Paul Bain is one of the most in demand session drummers in Australian Country music.
A protege of world-renown drum master Dr Grant Collins, Bain has built a formidable reputation as a powerhouse drummer, intuitive producer and sought-after playback specialist. Since 2008 he has held endorsement deals with DW Drums and Evans Drumheads - two of the world’s most prestigious drum companies - and in 2021 was officially added to the Gretsch Drums and Protection Racket artist rosters.

In 2017 Bain took the seat for star of Channel 9’s ‘The Block’ and 2x Golden Guitar-winning country artist Kirsty Lee Akers, joining her band as both studio and touring drummer. Since 2020 he has been a core member of the band for Country music heavy-weight 9x Golden Guitar winner and 2x ARIA Award nominated Travis Collins, bringing his stadium energy drumming and live playback expertise to sold out shows across Australia and the US, where he performed CMA Fest in Nashville 2024. When not on the road with Travis Collins Bain’s impressive resume as a hired gun has him running stage to stage at festivals all over the country and includes stints with North American Country mainstays The Davisson Brothers (USA) and The Dungarees (CAN), as well as with Australia's leading country artists Drew McAlister, James Blundell, Tania Kernaghan, Kristy Cox, Melanie Dyer and many more. He has recorded under INXS founding member Andrew Farriss and closed every major festival stage in Australian Country music (CMC Rocks, Gympie Music Muster, Tamworth Country Music Festival and Deni Ute Muster to name a few).

Recent years have seen Bain’s work reach new heights as he steps into the arena as a music producer. He played drums on Travis Collins’ The Band Album, which debuted at #1 on the ARIA Aus Country Albums Chart, and on Brooke Schubert’s After Midnight, which climbed to #2 on the same chart. Bain has continued his long-standing collaborations with both Akers and Rhinestoned, contributing drums, production and mixes to songs such as Marlboro Man, Girls Are Why The West Is Wild, and the recent It’s A Good Thing We Ain’t Drinking. He co-produced and performed on Kirsty Lee Akers’ 2022 album WILD, a project that likewise entered at #1 on the ARIA Aus Albums Chart and went on to receive a Golden Guitar nomination.

Beyond performance and production, Bain is also highly regarded for his expertise in building live playback for artists, custom audio solutions, and professional touring setups. He’s based on Brisbane’s North Side where he records and produces for artists and producers all around the world from his private studio.
